      Syllabus and ECTS Information Package Update Process

      In accordance with our University's Education and Training Regulation and MUDEK Accreditation Standards; the digital update of the information packages of the courses to be conducted in the 2025-2026 Spring Semester via UBS and the submission processes of the relevant forms with wet signatures are specified below.

      System Entry and Document Preparation

      Preparation

      The content, objectives, and measurement-evaluation information of the conducted courses must first be updated transparently as an ECTS Information Package via the UBS > Bologna Information System.

      • System Printout: A physical printout of the "Course Content Form" updated via UBS must be taken from the system.
      • Syllabus Preparation: The "Syllabus Form" to be presented to students must be prepared and printed in exact accordance with the data in the system.
      ✍️ Initial and Signature Rule:
      All pages of both forms except the last page must be initialed, and the last page must be signed with a wet signature personally by writing Title - Name - Surname. (One copy for each course).

      Compliance with MUDEK Criteria and Points to Consider

      Critical Rules

      While updating the ECTS Information Package via the UBS (Bologna) system and preparing Syllabi, the following MUDEK 3.0 standards must be strictly followed:

      • Evidence-Based Measurement of Learning Outcomes: Each "Learning Outcome (LO)" declared in the course information package must be subjected to a clear evaluation (Exam question, homework, project, etc.) during the semester. At the end of the semester, student works (best, average, lowest) showing that these outcomes have been achieved will be placed in the course file as evidence.
      • PO - LO Matrix Filling Rule: While matching Course Learning Outcomes (LO) with MUDEK Program Outcomes (PO), only the outcomes that the course directly contributes to and measures should be marked. Cells with no logical or measurable relationship must be left absolutely blank (Zero "0" or dash "-" should not be written).
      • Standard Weekly Plan (Weeks 8 and 16): Weekly topic distribution is standardized in all course syllabi. Week 8 should be written as "Midterm Exam" and Week 16 as "End of Semester Exams" in the education plan.
      • Assessment and Use of Rubrics (Scoring Key): Transparency, fairness, and consistency of measurement processes are required by MUDEK Criterion 1.5. For measurements other than exams such as homework, presentations, laboratory reports, and projects, a Rubric should be used to avoid subjective grading, and this situation should be notified to students in advance in the syllabus.

      Special Note for Design and Graduation Project Courses

      Major Design Experience
      ⚠️ Document Submission Exception:
      There is no need to submit the "Course Content Form" only for Graduation Project and Graduation Thesis courses (It will be prepared centrally by the Head of Department). However, faculty members are required to prepare and submit the "Syllabus Form" for their own groups.
      🎯 As per MUDEK Criterion 5.5:
      Graduation Project / Engineering Design courses taken by students before graduation are at the center of our quality process and are definitely not an exception. The following points must be clearly defined in the ECTS Information Packages and Syllabi of these courses:
      • Complex Engineering Problem: It must be stated in the syllabus and project sheet that the project topic given to the student is a "Complex problem" that cannot be solved with a standard formula and requires integrating multiple civil engineering disciplines.
      • Design Under Realistic Constraints: It must be documented that the project was designed considering not only technical aspects but also realistic constraints such as Economy, Environmental Problems, Sustainability, Manufacturability, Ethics, Health, Safety, and Social dimensions.
      • Performance Evaluation with Rubric: In graduation projects; Graduation Project Evaluation Rubrics must be used by juries to clearly measure abstract outcomes such as students' teamwork (PO-8), communication and presentation skills (PO-9), and ethical awareness (PO-7).

      UBS system entries must be completed by the date specified above, and the Course Content Forms obtained from the system and the prepared Syllabus Forms must be submitted with wet signatures/initials.
